SHELL EGGS: Daily National Egg Market-at-a-Glance


New York egg prices are 6 cents lower for Extra Large and Large,
down 4 cents for Medium.  California and regional prices are
steady.  The undertone is lower.  Supplies are mixed, mostly 
moderate for trade needs.  The shell egg inventory is 3.1 percent
higher when compared to the previous week.  Retail and food
service demand is light to moderate.  Offerings are moderate
to heavy.  Market activity is slow in the Northeast and Midwest
regions, slow to moderate elsewhere.  Breaking stock supplies 
are light to moderate for normal to over-time breaking schedules.
The breaking stock inventory is up 2.9 percent from last week.
Light type hen demand is moderate; supplies are mixed, usually
sufficient.
